Pacifics Rally Past Seaweed 7-5

May 30 2023 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 7-5 after scoring four runs in the ninth inning to break a 5-3 deficit. San Rafael finished with seven hits and two errors while Vallejo collected nine hits and committed one error.

Kevin Johnson led the Pacifics offense by going 2-for-4 with three runs two RBIs and a home run. Nick Smith added two hits and three RBIs including a double, while Blake Diggle drove in two runs. San Rafael also received a solo home run from Johnson and a triple from Diggle.

Vallejo built its early lead with two runs in the first and two more in the third before adding another run in the sixth. Mickey Nunes went 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks, and Caleb Natov went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a home run. Gary Mason added an RBI.

Austin Fitzpatrick earned the win for San Rafael after allowing four hits and no runs over 3.1 innings with one walk and three strikeouts. Tanner Kane started and worked 5.2 innings, allowing five runs four earned on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Sean Jackson went the distance for Vallejo, striking out 14 while allowing seven runs four earned on seven hits.
