Vallejo Seaweed Roll Past Dublin Leprechauns 10-1

June 16 2023 The Vallejo Seaweed defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 10-1, using a seven-run stretch across the second through fourth innings to take control. Vallejo scored once in the first, added three runs in the second and third, and led 8-1 after four innings before adding single runs in the sixth and seventh. Vallejo finished with nine hits while Dublin collected seven.

Dandre Gaines led Vallejo’s offense by going 3-for-4 with four runs scored, three RBIs, two doubles and a home run. Braxton King added four hits and scored twice, while Ike Brown, Tinmion Hughes and Kevin Consolazio each drove in a run. Dublin’s Kyle Montebon went 3-for-5, and Meltavis Robertson had two hits. Mark Jacob recorded Dublin’s only RBI.

Phil Rowland earned the win for Vallejo after allowing one earned run on five hits in five innings, with three walks and four strikeouts. Chris Hess followed with four scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out three to record the save. Dublin starter Wyatt Rowland took the loss after surrendering eight runs, seven earned, on five hits in five innings.
