San Rafael Pacifics Hold Off Vallejo Seaweed 5-2

June 17 2023 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 5-2 at Albert Park. San Rafael scored in the first and third innings before adding two runs in the sixth and another in the seventh to build a 5-1 lead. Vallejo scored its other run in the eighth inning but could not complete the comeback.

Tyler Georgeson went 2-for-4 with an RBI for San Rafael, while Nick Smith and Dan Crossan also drove in runs. Kevin Johnson scored once and collected one hit. San Rafael finished with six hits, including a double by Crossan, and stole five bases as a team. Sean Jackson led Vallejo with two hits, including a double, in a four-hit effort by the Seaweed.

Kohto Hasegawa earned the win after allowing three hits and one run in seven innings. He struck out eight and walked two, with the lone run charged as unearned. Simon Martinez recorded the save with one strikeout in one-third of an inning. Vallejo starter Cody Rybolt took the loss, allowing five hits and four earned runs in six innings while striking out five and walking four.
