Vallejo Seaweed Rally Past Lancaster Sound Breakers 7-4

June 23 2023 The Vallejo Seaweed scored five runs in the eighth inning and added another in the ninth to rally past the Lancaster Sound Breakers 7-4. Vallejo overcame a 4-1 deficit after four innings and finished with eight hits, while Lancaster collected 13 hits in the loss.

Kyle Kotecki led Vallejo with two hits and three RBI. Mickey Nunes, Sean Jackson, Gary Mason Jr. and Chris Hess each drove in a run, while Jalen Ford scored three times and Dandre Gaines added a hit, a run and a walk. Lancaster was led by Jacob Jablonski and Luke Smith with three hits apiece; Jablonski scored three runs, while Smith contributed two RBI.

Jackson earned the win after allowing 13 hits and four runs, three earned, in 8.1 innings. He walked three and struck out six. Quentin Oexner recorded the save with a scoreless two-thirds of an inning. Lancaster starter Tyler Hopper allowed one run over four innings, but Nico ODonnell took the loss after surrendering six runs on five hits in two innings.
