Lancaster Sound Breakers Hold Off Vallejo Seaweed 4-3

June 24 2023 The Lancaster Sound Breakers held off the Vallejo Seaweed 4-3 after combining six hits with a four-run effort. Lancaster scored once in the first inning and added three runs in the sixth to take a 4-2 lead before Vallejo scored once in the ninth. The Sound Breakers finished with six hits and three errors while Vallejo had five hits and two errors.

Evan Antonellis went 2-for-3 with a home run, one run and one RBI for Lancaster. Andrew Castano also homered, scored once and drove in two runs, while Kyle Jenkins added an RBI. Vallejos Phil Rowland went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Jalen Ford had a triple and drove in a run.

Joe Richter earned the win for Lancaster after allowing three hits and two runs, one earned, in six innings. He walked five and struck out five. Brian Blackburn recorded the save with three innings of relief, allowing two hits and one run while striking out seven. Vallejo starter Phil Rowland took the loss after surrendering six hits and four earned runs in six innings with one walk and seven strikeouts; David Gustatson followed with two scoreless innings.
