Monterey Amberjacks Rally Past Vallejo Seaweed 8-3

June 25 2023 The Monterey Amberjacks scored six runs in the sixth inning and went on to defeat the Vallejo Seaweed 8-3. Monterey finished with seven hits and one error while Vallejo also collected seven hits and committed one error.

Anthony Ward delivered a home run for Monterey and finished with one RBI. Gabriel Murillo drove in two runs, while Chaison Miklich scored twice and added an RBI. Joseph Barrons contributed two hits and an RBI from the pitcher’s spot, and Ryan Diaz added a hit and an RBI.

Barrons earned the win after allowing seven hits and three runs, two earned, in eight innings. He walked one and struck out six. Nick Samudio completed the game with a scoreless ninth inning. Noah Fiso took the loss for Vallejo after allowing four hits and six runs in 5.2 innings with five walks and four strikeouts.

Vallejo scored once in the seventh and twice in the eighth to cut the deficit, but Monterey answered with two runs in the seventh and held the Seaweed scoreless in the ninth. Tinmion Hughes led Vallejo with two hits and a run scored, while Ike Brown and Gary Mason each recorded an RBI.
