Gaines Powers Vallejo Past Dublin 16-11

June 22 2023 Dandre Gaines went 3-for-3 with two home runs a triple three runs and nine RBI as the Vallejo Seaweed defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 16-11. Vallejo collected 14 hits and overcame an early deficit to secure the win while Dublin finished with 11 hits and one error.

Dublin scored four runs in the first inning and four more in the third to take an early lead. The Leprechauns added two runs in the fifth and one in the eighth, with Kyler LeRoux delivering three hits and four RBI. Mark Jacob scored three times and Jalen Gali added two hits and two runs for Dublin.

Vallejo answered with two runs in the first, three in the third and two in the fourth before taking control late. The Seaweed scored once in the sixth and four times in both the seventh and eighth innings to turn a 10-8 deficit after five innings into a 16-11 advantage. Sean Jackson scored five runs and drew four walks, while Jalen Ford had two hits and three RBI. William Robinson added a home run and two RBI.

Noah Fiso earned the win after allowing no hits and one run in two innings with two walks. Cody Rybolt worked 3.2 innings and struck out four. Dublin starter Kyle Montebon took the loss after surrendering six hits and eight runs in two innings.
