Bakersfield Train Robbers Defeat Vallejo Seaweed 22-9 on June 28 2023

June 28 2023 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 22-9 behind a 21-hit offensive performance. Bakersfield scored in seven of the final seven innings after a scoreless opening two frames and finished without an error. Vallejo collected 11 hits and committed one error.

Christian Jones led the Train Robbers by going 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBI, including a home run. Paul Von Zboray added four hits and five RBI, while Seth Strong went 4-for-6 with three RBI. Chris Iazzetta homered and drove in four runs, and Tevin Brown contributed three hits, four runs and three RBI.

Bakersfield broke through with two runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings before scoring four in the sixth. Vallejo answered with five runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to 12-9, but the Train Robbers put the game away with seven runs in the eighth and added three more in the ninth.

Joe Riddle earned the win after allowing five hits and four earned runs in six innings, striking out seven and walking three. Hunter Adams followed with two scoreless innings and four strikeouts. Cody Rybolt took the loss for Vallejo, surrendering 13 hits and 10 earned runs in 5.1 innings.
