Lancaster Scores 17 Runs in Rout of Vallejo

July 5 2023 The Lancaster Sound Breakers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 17-2 in a seven-inning game. Lancaster collected 15 hits and scored nine runs in the first inning, building an early lead that Vallejo could not overcome. The Breakers added one run in the second and third innings, four in the fifth and two in the sixth. Evan Antonellis led Lancaster’s offensive attack, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored. Jacob Jablonski added three hits, four runs and a walk, while Tyler Hopper went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Julian Hunt drove in two runs, and Michael Haith also finished with two RBI. Lancaster’s 15-hit performance included three home runs, with Antonellis hitting two. Hopper also delivered on the mound, earning the win after allowing two runs on five hits in seven innings. He struck out six and walked two. Vallejo starter Cody Rybolt took the loss after recording one out and allowing five runs, four earned, on one hit with three walks. Kyle Kotecki followed for Vallejo and surrendered 11 runs, seven earned, on 13 hits in 4 2/3 innings. Alexander Owens worked two innings and allowed one run on one hit. Dandre Gaines accounted for Vallejo’s only home run and drove in both of the Seaweed’s runs, while Vallejo committed four errors in the loss.
