Marysville Drakes Roll Past Vallejo Seaweed 23-3

July 8 2023 The Marysville Drakes scored in eight innings and defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 23-3. Marysville collected 15 hits and built a commanding lead with nine runs in the first inning followed by one in the second and four in the third. Vallejo scored once in the fifth and added single runs in the eighth and ninth while finishing with six hits and six errors.

Lyndon Weaver led Marysville with three hits four walks and five runs scored while driving in two runs. He also hit a home run and stole a base. Neil Boudreau added a home run two RBI and three runs scored. Evan Blum went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI and Aaron Rhodes hit a home run and drove in three runs. Marysville also received two hits and an RBI from Joseph Starick.

Earl Johnson earned the win after allowing four hits and one unearned run in six innings. He struck out 10 and walked two. Brenton Thomas followed with a scoreless inning while Mike Stellmack and Tim Nichols each worked one inning for the Drakes.

Jordan Jacobs took the loss for Vallejo after allowing nine runs in one inning. David Escobar pitched four innings and allowed six runs while James Jackson gave up five earned runs in one inning. Marysville finished the game with 23 runs on 15 hits and two errors.
