Vallejo Seaweed Rally Past Dublin Leprechauns 12-7

July 18 2023 The Vallejo Seaweed defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 12-7 at Doyle Park after collecting 15 hits and overcoming an early deficit. Vallejo trailed 5-4 after six innings before scoring five runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth to take control. Dublin added one run in each of the seventh and eighth innings, but could not close the gap.

Jalen Ford led Vallejo with three hits in five at-bats, three runs, two RBI and three stolen bases. Ike Brown went 3-for-5 with three RBI, while Gary Mason and Christian Carmouche each collected two hits. Vallejo also received two RBI apiece from Timmion Hughes and Ford. Dublins Saul Razo hit a home run and finished with two RBI and two runs scored. Mark Jacob and Meltavis Robertson each had two hits for the Leprechauns, with Robertson adding a double and a triple.

Sean Jackson earned the win for Vallejo after allowing seven hits and six earned runs in seven innings. He walked four and struck out 11. Kyle Kotecki and Quentin Oexner each worked one scoreless inning to finish the game. Albert Dominguez took the loss for Dublin, giving up nine hits and seven runs six of them earned in 5.2 innings, while striking out five and walking four.

Vallejo scored twice in the second and fourth innings before breaking open the game with its five-run seventh. The Seaweed finished with 12 runs and 15 hits, while Dublin totaled seven runs and 10 hits. Vallejo committed two errors and Dublin made four.
