Bakersfield Train Robbers Roll Past Vallejo Seaweed 33-1

July 24 2023 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 33-1, scoring in each of the five innings. Bakersfield opened with seven runs in the first, added six in the second and eight in the third before finishing with two runs in the fourth and 10 in the fifth. Vallejo scored its lone run in the third inning.

Bakersfield collected 28 hits, led by Tevin Browns 7-for-7 performance with seven RBI and five runs scored. Max Tracey went 4-for-4 with five runs, three RBI and three walks, while Austin Toerner went 3-for-5 with four runs and five RBI. Toerner and Chris Iazzetta each hit a home run, and Iazzetta added three hits and three RBI.

Toerner also earned the win after allowing two hits and one run in five innings with one walk and five strikeouts. Tavon Gibbs took the loss for Vallejo after allowing nine hits and 13 runs in two innings. David Escobar surrendered 18 hits and 19 runs in 2.2 innings. Vallejo finished with two hits and four errors, while Bakersfield committed no errors.
