Bakersfield Train Robbers Rout Vallejo Seaweed 13-1

July 10 2023 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 13-1 in a game decided in the opening inning. Bakersfield scored 13 runs on eight hits and took advantage of four Vallejo errors, while Vallejo managed one run on three hits and committed four errors of its own.

Seth Strong led the Bakersfield offense with two hits, two runs and three RBI. Blake Vandiver, Chris Iazzetta, Rick Phillips and S. Goodwin each drove in a run, while Paul Von Zboray added an RBI and Max Tracey contributed a double. Bakersfield also received doubles from Vandiver and Strong.

Austin Toerner earned the win after allowing one run on three hits in one inning, with one strikeout. Vallejo starter Vyn Manson took the loss after permitting eight runs, four hits and four walks in two-thirds of an inning. Kevin Consolazio followed with one-third of an inning and allowed five runs on four hits and two walks.
