Vallejo Seaweed Pull Away From Monterey Amberjacks 13-5

July 14 2025 The Vallejo Seaweed defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 13-5 at Wilson Park. Vallejo collected 13 hits and scored in six innings, while Monterey finished with eight hits. Vallejo took control with three runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth before adding two in the seventh.

Michael Pavelchak led Vallejo’s attack with four hits in six at-bats and two RBI. Andrew Mason hit a home run and drove in two runs, while Trey Fletcher added two RBI. Antonio Straughter contributed a triple, a hit and two RBI. Victor Valera had two hits and an RBI.

Monterey’s Tyler Toland went 4-for-5 and scored three runs, and Alex Elliott had two hits and two RBI. The Amberjacks also scored once in the first, fourth and ninth innings and twice in the seventh.

Straughter earned the win after allowing four hits and two earned runs over six innings while striking out seven and walking three. Hunter Dean followed with a hitless inning and four strikeouts. Ethan Martinez took the loss for Monterey after surrendering seven hits and nine runs in 1 1/3 innings, with seven runs earned.
